Schoon's foray into the world of video game creation started with an email to the president of a Midwest game publisher whose cousin Schoon sang with in an a capella group he helped found. There in the hills of sunny Plymouth, Minnesota, Schoon worked in QA on Wordjongg DS and Full Metal Alchemist Trading Card Game for DS, as well as several other DS and Wii titles with Bold Publishing. After that initial internship he vowed to join the ranks of the almighty engineer and studied game engine design at his alma mater, Bucknell University.
After emptying his bank account on a trip to San Francisco's GDC, Schoon landed an internship with Lucasfilm's newly minted Jedi Academy in core engineering. Happy to be back on the East Coast now, Schoon has joined the amazingly talented 38 Studios crew as a software engineer, where he looks forward to discovering what a totally wicked and insane team (those are compliments) can accomplish.
